WinterStorm Rock Weekender
Since its very first outing in 2026 more than fifty percent of WinterStorm fans have come from outside of Scotland and many add on a few days to make it a short break before the stress of Christmas!
In 2024 we had twelve different countries represented - The whole of the UK from the South of England to the Hebrides and Orkney; Costa Rica to New Zealand and all across Europe - we are a global rock family that's for sure and it comes across in the friendly atmosphere generated.
So we thought it was time to create a guide to Troon. Ayrshire and opportunities to take in a wee bit more of Scotland while you're up here.
Destination WinterStorm is our own digital concierge with travel and destination information and suggestions for extending your stay
New to WinterStorm this page has been designed to answer all the questions we get asked by those who have never been. Once you've been the chances are you'll just book again and again - 2025 has already seen more than 50% of the tickets sold to previous visitors without a band being named.
It's just so much more than three days of rock music. For many it's become a holiday by the seaside; part of a tour, a weekend "Doon the Watter".
You can follow the links below and find out more - Travel | Stay | Eat and Drink | Shop | See and Do | Explore - any questions you can always contact us.
With low cost UK and European inbound flights to Prestwick. Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports and superb rail connections almost to the door it is more than do-able! Troon is connected almost all the way by motorway from the south on the M6 joining Scotland's M74 then M8 and M77. It is surprisingly easy!
WinterStorm was placed at the end of November for a reason - there is never any point putting on an event if the ticketholders have nowhere to stay or find themselves paying premiums. Troon and Ayrshire around it have hundreds of hotels, B&Bs and self catering options many situated on the railway line to Troon.
Troon Concert Hall is an old school venues that just evokes memories of concerts across the UK in years past! Two stages - 900 main and the smaller intimate Session Stage offers two live music options with no planned overlaps. Small town but with plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants and of course we always punch above our weight with some great names just loving the whole set up with one of the clearest and best PA systems you will hear all year and five metre video screen means that its big enough to impress but small enough to have everyone up close and personal with the artistes.
We're not getting any younger and in reality a wee seat can be an essential. 250 balcony seats and another 300 around the building as well as a wheelchair viewing platform too. The quite gently lit Hing Oot Ha' allows you to take your senses down a notch or two. And of course even in November the wee walk along the beach that sits right at the door will cure any ailment while retail therapy is also available from the town centre venue! Don't miss our own WinterStorm Beach Bench and Deckchair too and a wee seat looking out to sea and the islands beyond.
Beer Fest, Fresh Scottish Food, town centre location. The stage areas are complemented by the Hing Oot Ha' where you can chill and recharge with a seat, beer and a WinterStormer Pie or fresh Scottish food. Two bars, Scottish Kitchen and local produce and our own mini real ale fest to boot!
We have been committed since 2017 to Reduce Single Use and through they years have complemented this with more compostables, free water coolers to avoid plastic bottles going to landfill and Saturday morning beach cleans and reusable WinterStorm tumblers to take home. We remain committed to making things just a wee bit better year on year.
Monthly payments, accommodation inclusive options, partner travel agent, direct room booking service - if you've never been we can assure you we'll make it easier than you can imagine with local advice on where to stay and how to get to the venue. We will advise on flights, transfers, trains and help you get the right room and ticket for your whole trip.
Our Troon accommodation packages have been incredibly popular once again, and there are very few of our own rooms available however there are literally hundreds of hotels, B&Bs and self catering spaces available across Ayrshire and even Glasgow and they are available at off season prices.
