Massive Wagons will bring their loud and proud Rock to the Friday Main Stage at Winterstorm 2017
Massive Wagons began rehearsals in 2009, the guys wasted no time hitting the ground running. Gig after gig with a relentless attitude to playing live, the Wagons played everywhere. Armed with their first 10 track album ‘Fire It Up’ through what looked like every nightclub, rock boozer and biker bar up and down the country, over and over again. Yeah it was rough and ready, but it was as loud and honest as the guys themselves.
These early recordings demonstrated the calibre that was to come, and the songs resonated with those who yearned for the long absent uncompromising, hard melodic rock of yester year – revamped in a youthful package. Taking pride in crafting a live performance they wanted more than anything to be unrivalled, and slowly but surely picking up more and more hardcore fans along the way. Hamlets to villages then towns to cities, more listened and more followed creating a real buzz among each scene they encountered.
On the back of this growing live reputation, Massive Wagons signed to Off Yer Rocka in 2014, joining a growing roster alongside Trucker Diablo and The Quireboys. Massive Wagons released 'FIGHT THE SYSTEM' worldwide on the 4th August 2014. Recorded at Axis Studio in late 2013, and produced by the exceptional talent of Matt Elliss (Terrorvision/Black Spiders) the album was released to critical acclaim in the UK and Europe, propelled by the popularity of the bands first official single ‘Red Dress’ which featured on the Classic Rock Magazine ‘Heavy Rotation’ section. And the album dubbed by popular rock journo Dave Ling as - “Huge slabs of melodic hard rock.. Must see live!”
It was clear from the packed attendance on the 20 date UK tour that followed that the bands popularity was rising dramatically. Live show after live show the Wagons knuckled down, writing hard, gigging harder and before long new opportunities came rolling in as more and more people were drawn into the infectious good time vibe surrounding the guys and their music. Festivals including Hard Rock Hell, Bloodstock, Steelhouse and Ramblin Man most recently saw Massive Wagons lining up alongside their peers, influences and idols. Followed up by trips abroad to play in Ibiza, and to the legendary Diamond Rock Club in N. Ireland, the band proved to be a draw in all corners of the UK.
And so to the present, the current situation. Massive Wagons are still the same lineup, still rocking the same live chemistry, and more than ever still have the same hunger and desire to succeed. Five mates writing and playing rock music as hard as ever, now armed with label backing and a loyal following, an established main stage act lined up later in the year at Hard Rock Hell 2015, Legends of Rock and plenty other shows to melt the faces of this awesome hard rock loving nation, including an Academy venue tour in the spring of 2016 to promote their best material to date.
