The Commoners

The Commoners will appear at WinterStorm 2026 as part of StormForce X, the festival’s tenth anniversary edition, taking place at Troon Concert Hall on the Scottish west coast from 26th - 28th November 2026. Travelling from Toronto, Canada, The Commoners bring a rich roots rock sound built on soulful vocals, southern rock energy, harmony-driven choruses and big guitar warmth. Their appearance adds a powerful international flavour to a WinterStorm line-up designed for fans of classic rock, blues rock, southern rock and authentic live bands with real road miles behind them.

Possessing a sound tapped from the oaken belly of a whiskey barrel, The Commoners are a five-piece roots rock outfit from Toronto who have steadily built a reputation as one of the most exciting new names in the modern classic rock scene. Their music carries the spirit of southern rock, blues, soul and 1970s hard rock, but it never feels like a museum piece. This is a band taking those influences and pushing them forward with youthful energy, strong songs and the kind of live presence that makes immediate sense to WinterStorm audiences.

Their sound is driven by high-energy riffs, soulful vocals and rich harmonies, creating a warm, road-worn style that sits naturally alongside the likes of The Black Crowes, Blackberry Smoke, Free, Led Zeppelin and the Allman Brothers tradition. It is earthy, melodic and full of movement: songs built for stages, for long nights, for singing back from the front row, and for fans who like their rock music with heart as well as muscle.

The Commoners released Find A Better Way in 2022, an album that helped introduce their roots rock and roll sound to a wider audience. Tracks including “Fill My Cup”, “Too Much” and the title track gave the band strong momentum, particularly with UK rock radio listeners, and helped establish them as a serious live proposition. Their follow-up album, Restless, continued that rise, developing the band’s songwriting with a mix of full-throttle anthems, slower-burning moments and emotionally charged roots rock.

The band have also been busy on the road, touring across Canada, Europe and the UK and bringing their music to audiences who still believe that rock and roll is best experienced live, loud and with a bit of soul in the room. Their 2026 “Runnin’ Blind” touring activity continues that story, taking The Commoners back across Europe and the UK with a show built on energy, musicianship and connection.

For WinterStorm, The Commoners feel like a perfect fit: international, authentic, rootsy, powerful and absolutely built for the live environment. Expect big choruses, warm grooves, whisky-soaked guitar tones and a band who understand exactly how to turn a room into a shared experience.
