Remember that the doors will  be opening at just after lunchtime on Friday so book the day off and with the strength of depth right through the line up you won't want to miss a moment! We are scheduling up to twenty bands over two days on the main stage and once again we'll have the acoustic chill out stage too an with a bit of luck some more surprises.

We will also be publishing details as we have them of the South Beach Sessions Acoustic Stage and the After Show Party which goes on until 2am

The Spirit of 80's Reading Lives On!

Old skool rock and metal will have it’s place once again at WinterStorm with half a dozen acts or more harping back to the spirit of the early eighties. Late seventies and early eighties Reading and Donington have a place in many rockers hearts and minds even if not all memories remain intact and with the Whitesnake/Rainbow/MSG connection in place we be sure of some wonderful musical memories throughout the weekend.

Bernie Marsden will be appearing with his band which includes fellow ex Whitesnake member Neil Murray. Alongside the old Whitesnake band members we confirmed that former Rainbow and Michael Schenker Group front man Graham Bonnet will be bringing his band over from The States too although it's unfortunate that we have now lost Bernie Torme (who played with Gillan) from the line up we will have an amazing "Reading" Saturday too. We are delighted to welcome back both Praying Mantis and Tygers of Pan Tang. Both bands had their sets shortened in 2016 due to external circumstances last year and we promised them both that we'd have them back to complete unfinished business. The final announcements confirmed the appearance of Rock Goddess and Heavy Pettin' both of whom graced the Reading stages too. And Chris Glen was on there too with Sensational Alex Harvey Band. WE are sure there are more Reading threads yet to be uncovered in the bands...

The More Melodic Side?

We had previously confirmed that New York hard rockers Tyketto will be on the WinterStorm stage on the Friday evening and that Saturday will have it's own melodic rock spot with the confirmation of Dare. Add to this the latest addition of Norther Irish AOR band No Hot Ashes and you can be assured that you're tastes are catered for.

WinterStorm Breakers

Like last year, WinterStorm has to be about so much more than just the classic names and in 2016 the quality of talent right through the line up made the weekend what it was and we believe that we have that strength in depth again this year. Featuring up and coming signed and unsigned we will have some of the best young rock talent on show over both days.

The first four confirmed to start with include last year's show stealers Mason Hill. We are delighted to have them back and who knows what they'll have achieved before stage time this year.

We are also equally delighted to bring three superb young bands up the M74 each one bringing something different to the WinterStorm stage. Massive Wagons, Bigfoot and Stone Broken are all confirmed for WinterStorm XVII and we can't wait to welcome them all. The King Lot will return with their own brand of melodic rock too and three or four other acts are yet to be added and in the recent first ever Battle of the Bands style StormBreakers event Anchor Lane won the right to paly the Saturday mainstage.

We also have Syteria who sort of crossover between the classic rock and new bands; this is Jackie Chambers of Girlschool's side project. New project, new album same passion.

We can also confirm that MC Extraordinaire, Scotland's Godfather of Rock, Mr Tom Russell will be back behind the mic introducing the acts.

We are working on the acoustic and new talent stages too, improving the range of real ales in the bar, setting up a new and improved ice cream stall and of course we'll have the by now world famous WinterStorm pies back on sale!

We hope you'll join us by the seaside again this November.
